Atlanta, Georgia Bankruptcy Basics

We will spend a good deal of time talking about the process of filing bankruptcy.  Some of my clients spend time on the Internet reading about bankruptcy before calling me, and therefore have a sense of what chapter they think they should file.

Other clients have many questions about filing, the court, the process and options. I love talking about bankruptcy, and I am happy to spend as long as it takes to explain, clarify, and educate you about everything you’d ever want to know about the bankruptcy code, the courts, and which Chapter is best for you.

There are actually several “Chapters” of bankruptcy. The two most commonly filed by consumers are either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13.  Chapter 11 is a third less common variation filed by some corporations and certain individuals with high debts.
