Good news for Part-Time Georgians–Maybe

Our Govenor Sonny Perdue is “listening to tax payers” and has apparently relented on his stance against accepting Federal stimulus money and WILL take it for our state.

This means that laid-off part time workers will have access to unemployment insurance–even if they are only seeking part time work. Good news for some. Unemployment insurance may protect you from having to make difficult decisions.

Mary Irene Dickerson wrote a strong analysis of this issue in her opinion piece published March 9, 2009 by (whats left of) the AJC.

What’s left is for the Georgia House and Senate to approve the measures. Call your representative!
